JRA Newsletter July 2007
It has been quite a while since our last newsletter, and we have so much to say!
Changes at JRA
New trading name… While we have always referred to ourselves as ‘JRA,’ most of our clients have known us as John Robertson & Associates. Well now is the time for us to make our name change official. From April 2007 we became JRA (NZ) Ltd, and we’re currently updating all of our details in line with this. Hopefully in our next newsletter we will be able to show you our new logo!
New horizons… Earlier this year we opened our first offshore operation, JRA (Aust) Pty Ltd. Based in Brisbane, JRA (Aust) Pty will spearhead our expansion into the Australian market, as well as supporting existing Australian clients. Dr Neal Knight-Turvey (neal@jraaustralia.com.au) will manage the company, while continuing to direct our Australasian research activities.
New staff… In recent months we have welcomed three new staff members to the JRA (NZ) Ltd team – Amy Silvester-Brooks has recently joined us in a Survey Administrator role, Anna Firmin is our new Accountant, and Catherine Donohue has taken over our reception/admin duties.

unlimited/JRA Best Places to Work Survey 2007
We are now taking registrations the 8th annual unlimited/JRA Best Places to Work Survey. As New Zealand’s largest survey of employee engagement, BPTW 2007 is expected to attract the participation of over 250 organisations.
If your organisation has participated in the past 2 years, you should have by now received your registration pack in the mail.
Thanks again this year to our survey sponsors Dow Group (property and workplace strategy) and Adcorp (marketing communications).

360 Reflect – online 360 degree feedback tool
360 Degree Feedback is where a person receives feedback about their performance from a variety of sources – not only from the person they report to, but also their peer group and direct reports. 360 Degree Feedback increases a person’s awareness about their effectiveness and how their performance is perceived by others, and is a powerful and proven catalyst for personal development.
Our 360 Reflect has recently been completely redesigned in line with our workplace survey reporting upgrade last year. Our unique online reporting allows you to customise your participant reports, create your own Group Reports, set performance targets and use percentiles… if you haven’t used 360 Degree Feedback (or if you use a competitor’s product!), you should check this out!

It takes Leadership…
Creating a great place to work takes leadership. Catapult Leadership is a leadership programme with content directly applicable to building a great place to work. For example, one of the four pillars of a great place to work is shared vision, values and goals. A core learning module of Catapult Leadership is how to uncover values and how to create vision and goals that inspire.
Catapult Leadership promises to unleash leadership potential and equip participants with a world-class toolbox of leadership skills and resources. Places are available on the July programme at the Waiheke Island Resort, and the August programme at Brackenridge Lodge in Martinborough.
